Level 2 Counselling Skills

Level 2 Counselling Skills  is a part time course carried out over one year.  This qualification is designed to provide basic counselling skills to compliment and support personal development within other professional roles:  from the health and social care sector to teaching, advocacy, mediation and other helping roles. This course is also the first level of training on your journey to becoming a professional counsellor.


Entry requirements: No previous experience or qualifications required.


Qualification summary:

  • Use counselling skills ethically and safely
  • Establish and sustain the boundaries of the helping role
  • Work empathically as a helper
  • Focus on the helpee’s needs and concerns
  • Use self-awareness in helping work
  • Use a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction
  • Use feedback and reflection to enhance counselling skills


Duration per year: 30 weeks 

Guided Learning Hours: 90 hours (minimum)

Total Qualification Time: 170 hours

Credit value: 17

Class Members: Maximum of 12 students

Minimum age: 21 years


Course : Remote Teaching Online - Monday Evenings 6pm-9pm commencing 8th September 2025


Cost: £1,100 per year - 10% discount if paid upfront in full - Instalment plan available

Course Fee Includes: All Reading Material & CPCAB Registration Fee


Upon successful completion of the interview process, a 10% deposit will be required to secure your place.
