Level 4 BACP APQ Counselling Diploma

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - BACP Approved Practitioner Qualification is a part time course carried out over two years. This qualification is designed to lead to an employed or voluntary role within a counselling agency in both health care and non-medical settings and is also a  NCPS Recognised Qualification.


This qualification has been approved by Skills England as a Higher Technical Qualification  (HTQ). HTQ status confirms that the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4)  meets nationally recognised, employer defined occupational standards, and that it prepares  candidates effectively for skilled employment in the counselling sector. HTQ approval signifies  national recognition of the quality, relevance, and rigour of this qualification. 


Our BACP APQ Level 4 Counselling Diploma will help you to understand and explore the clients explicit/implicit process through the use of integrating theories from the Humanistic,  Cognitive, Psychoanalytic, Existential and Psychodynamic Schools of Therapy.


Entry requirements: Level 3 Counselling Studies or equivalent

During the second year you will also be required to carry out 100 hours of a supervised work placement within an agency.  Alongside this, you will be expected to attend one full day per week at MSC and attend 40 hours of personal therapy during Years 1 & 2.


Duration per year: 35 weeks

Guided Learning Hours: 420 hours (minimum)

Total Qualification Time: 1204 hours

Credit value: 120

Class Members: Maximum of 12 students

Minimum age: 21 years

Course day: Friday 10am- 4pm commencing 12th September 2025


Cost: £3,500 per year - 10% discount if paid upfront in full - Instalment plan available

Course Fee Includes: All Reading Material & CPCAB Registration Fee as well as the costs to complete the BACP COP and the BACP Video and phone counselling 2.0: advancing your knowledge CPD.  We also work in partnership with an online agency and provide your first placement working with clients online.


Upon successful completion of the interview process, a 10% deposit will be required to secure your place.
